MiKlip_Departure II

MiKlip II is a multidisciplinary project that includes 4 modules and involves 16 national partners. The goal is to establish and improve the decadal climate prediction system that eventually can be transferred to the German meteorological service (DWD) for operational use. We are responsible for post-processing and ensemble spread calibration of the high resolution regional model outputs from module C (Regionalized Decadal Prediction). Our main emphasises are applying different statistical and dynamical approaches, aiming to provide a more reliable and physically consistent decadal prediction system by (1) removing/reducing model system errors and (2) adjusting model ensemble spread to obstain an adequate range of uncertainty from ensembles of simulations.
