New publication: indices for Africa as a part of BMBF-project WASCAL WRAP2.0 LANDSURF
06/18/2024As part of the BMBF project WASCAL WRAP2.0 LANDSURF, we have published a dataset with a large number of agricultural relevant indices for Africa. These include indices of temperature, heat, drought, and precipitation as well as various crop-specific indices of water availability for 12 different crops.
The data basis for this is provided by the regional climate models of CORDEX-CORE and the respective driving global models of CMIP5. Both the historical period (1981-2010) and future projections up to the end of the century are included, assuming two greenhouse gas emission scenarios (RCP2.6 = low emissions, RCP8.5 = high emissions). The data set forms the basis for various project-related works and publications and is freely available for further use.
