Our mission

In addition to our everyday teaching and research activities, the Department of Remote Sensing is involved in training and education initiatives abroad. These initiatives serve as a tool for knowledge sharing that promotes the technical development of target nations and fosters new international cooperations. Our training initiatives focus mainly on the basics of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing using open source software as well as on their practical applications.

Where were we?

The Capacity Building initiatives promoted by the Department of Remote Sensing take place in different parts of the world. Besides Germany, we have taught in North America, Africa and Central Asia.
