About Us

The research of our working group focuses on two areas: First, issues around ecosystem services in protected areas are addressed. In particular, the focus is on the role of nature tourism recreation with its advantages and disadvantages. On the other hand, the topic of sustainable regional development in combination with spatial and environmental planning is covered.

Both research topics are continuously integrated into our teaching. In addition to topic-oriented courses, the focus is also on methodological training through the application of the principles of empirical social research as well as GIS-supported thematic cartography.
